Quick preface: this is going to be a home for media that I enjoy and would recommend to a person. All media, regardless of the score, is top tier in my opinion. The different ratings are only to differentiate how likely it is to be liked by a wider audience. Going to update this when I think of other shit to add.

Authors

Orson Scott Card: What a legend. Ender’s Game. Do I even need to say more? 10/10
Rick Riordan: The king of my childhood. What a legend, like JK Rowling except he didn’t go butt fuck insane and is even pro-LGBTQA+. The world he built around Greek myths in modern times is superb. 10/10
J.K. Rowling: Fuck her and everything she stands for. All she had to do was fucking keep her whacked-out opinions to herself. 0/10, Take immense joy in pirating as much of her shit as possible.

Anime

Edgerunners: So if you like anime give this score +1, if you like playing Cyberpunk 2077 give this +1, and a final +1 if you think cyberpunk is neat. I fucking loved this show but I also apply to all three above categories so I know I am a bit biased. 7/10
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood: Fucking everyone loves this shit. And for good fucking reason! The story is engaging and the stakes feel real. Not a generic power fantasy. 10/10
Death Note: I mean if we are being honest with ourselves, after a certain point, the quality degrades quite a bit. I enjoyed it but it’s probably not for everyone. 8/10
Hunter X Hunter: OH MY GOD THE POWER SYSTEM!!! The villains, the heroes, the character development the stories!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! 11/10
Jujutsu Kaisen: Before season 2 dropped, I had this at a mediocre 6/10, purely as it didn’t live up to the manga. That has now completely changed. God is this shit good. 10/10

Movies

Interstellar: God I have watched this so many times. So good, so many feels. 11/10
Edge of Tomorrow: A guilty pleasure of mine. It’s not even that good but I’ve watched it upwards of 5 times. Realistically a 4/10
Dune: A lot of my opinion on this is redacted but besides that, it’s a good fucking movie. It’s working off of solid material and the CGI and set design is absolutely brilliant. 10/10
Logan: A full review here. 13/10
Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049: Both of these are great. Well directed and well produced, plus the story and actors are chef’s kiss. 10/10
Barbie: A full review here. 10/10

TV Show

American Gods: So I can’t really recommend this to everyone for a couple of reasons. A lot of nudity though I don’t think it makes or breaks the show. For me, this is an 11/10 but as an average recommendation I can only give this a 5/10
Arcane: I know League is ass but this show is pretty well written with a great story that isn’t dependent on an enjoyment of the game. 7/10
Doctor Who (Reboot): Well, first of all, all the Doctors are absolutely *REDACTED*. But for a real review, this is peak sci-fi entertainment. The characters are so well written, the stories so engaging, and the emotional roller coasters are ginormous. 12/10
Good Omens: Alrighty so the interplay between the angel and the demon, neither of which is terribly good at being the stereotype they represent, is so damn good. What a masterpiece and also it has David Tennant so a solid 10/10.

The Sandman: Pouty goth boy does cool things and also has a neat comic I want to read. 7/10
The Boys: Wow what a fictional and totally unrealistic story. 0/10 would never happen.
Hogan’s Heroes: Good old-fashioned comedy. I think it’s aged rather well but also I’m biased. 6/10
I, Claudius: Watched this in high school. A pretty cool historical drama about a Roman emperor. 5/10
Moon Night: So it’s a pretty cool story and I can’t wait for season two. 7/10
Rick and Morty: I have a lot to say about this but then I’m not taking my own advice about not taking the show too seriously. It’s pretty good. Get me a double gin and tonic and ask me how I really feel. 6/10

Alcohol

Shit’s kinda fire, right? Well I don’t have many recommendations in this field, but I believe the following are superb:

• Journeyman: Last Feather – A Cask strength, single barrel, rye whiskey that tastes of heaven. My first Rye, and I’d be surprised if I found a competitor. A 750ml bottle ran me $60 before tax.
